Dadspotting / A conversation worth having

The Family AI Checkup.

Your family uses AI. Have you talked about the rules?

Six questions. One family conversation. A practical plan you can start this week.

No names, accounts or children’s details needed. Answers stay in this page and clear when it is reloaded. This is a discussion tool, not a safety certification.

1. Know the tools

We know which AI tools our family uses, and have checked their age requirements.

2. Protect personal information

We have agreed what stays out of AI chats, including school records, private photos and other people’s information.

3. Keep thinking

We can explain when AI is helping us learn and when it is doing the thinking for us.

4. Check before trusting

We check important claims against an original or reliable source.

5. Control actions

We review permissions and require an adult check before purchases, messages or connected actions.

6. Keep talking

Everyone knows they can tell an adult if an AI response feels wrong or uncomfortable.

Make one agreement tonight.

“We will ask before sharing personal information, check important answers, and keep a person in charge of actions.” Adapt it together and choose a time to revisit it.
